Chocolate Orange Pudding

    An easy and delicious Christmas dessert that's great to make ahead. Set some Hartley's Orange jelly into glasses. Top with sliced Swiss roll and chocolate custard for a delicious chocolate orange trifle.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 Hartley's Orange Jelly Tablet
    • 4 tangerines, peeled, segmented and pips removed
    • 4 slices chocolate Swiss roll
    • 1 small carton chocolate custard
    • 1 small bar chocolate, grated

    Prep:10min  ›  Extra time:2hr chilling  ›  Ready in:2hr10min 

    1. Make up a Hartley's Orange Jelly tablet as per the instructions with 100ml of hot water to dissolve jelly, adding cold water as directed. Leave to cool.
    2. Place some tangerine segments into the bottom of 4 dessert glasses then pour over the jelly over each glass and transfer to the fridge and chill until set as directed.
    3. Arrange the slices of Swiss roll on top of each jelly then cover with a layer of chocolate custard.
    4. To finish, sprinkle over some grated chocolate and chill before serving.

    More ideas...

    Try using a tin of mandarin oranges as an alternative to tangerines. Or for a grown up version of this recipe, add a few tablespoons of sherry to the Swiss roll

    Gave this a whirl, except used jaffa cakes instead of the orange segments and chocolate angel delight instead of custard. Tasty  -  18 Jul 2012
