Smooth Thai Peanut Sauce

    This is a simple peanut sauce that is sure to become one of your staples. Serve over stir-fried veggies and rice.

    Serves: 5 

    • 275g (10 oz) organic peanut butter
    • 225ml (8 fl oz) hot water
    • 100ml (4 fl oz) distilled cider vinegar
    • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 4 tablespoons treacle
    • 1 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

    1. In a small saucepan, whisk together peanut butter and water over low heat. Stir in vinegar, soy sauce, treacle and cayenne pepper. Heat through, but do not simmer or boil in order to avoid curdling.

    Altered ingredient amounts. This sauce was amazing. Even though I was halving it but added the full amounts of soy sauce and cayenne pepper.  -  16 Oct 2010


    perfectly easy. perfectly balanced. yeah, you could add this, that and the other to taste. however, it really is perfect as is. really, really yummy.  -  24 Jul 2008


    Used different ingredients. This is a super easy recipe and basically no flaw. I give it a 5* for that reason alone. I added 3 finely diced spring onions with tops, 1t minced garlic and 1 finely diced red pepper. You wouldn't have to add it but I always change recipes. lol  -  24 Jul 2008
