Mint lamb mince savoury in the slow cooker

About this recipe: Very tasty dish lamb mince with mint sauce with veg, nice served with potatoes, cooked in the slow cooker.

Serves: 4 

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 450g lamb mince
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 5 mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon mint sauce, or more to taste
  • 1 small handful plain flour
  • 600ml (1pt) hot lamb stock, or more as needed
  • salt and pepper

Prep:15min  ›  Cook:8hr  ›  Ready in:8hr15min 

  1. Heat oil in large pan, fry onion until soft but not browned, then add lamb mince cook until browned.
  2. Add carrot, mushrooms and mint sauce; stir well. Sprinkle flour over, add stock and stir well. Season with salt and pepper. Cook 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Transfer into slow cooker, cover and cook for 8 hours on Low. Serve with mash potato and choice of veg.


It can be cooked just on stove for up to 2 hours until tender.

Done it on the hob so didnt have problem it being the mint sauce mixed up used two tbsp instead of tsp but i think it came out alright a touch sweeter than should be. - 03 Mar 2015


I put three teaspoons of mince sauce and it was gorgeous. Making it again for tonight tea. - 09 Mar 2014


Was ok, added more mint sauce and a handful of peas. Had to thicken. Don't think I'd have again - 02 Nov 2012
