About this recipe: This is my slow cooker version of a favourite recipe of mine. You can use white rice, or a mixture of brown and wild rice.

Serves: 4 

  • 115g butter or margarine
  • 300g uncooked white rice or brown and wild rice mix
  • 1 tin condensed mushroom soup
  • 1 tin French onion soup
  • 300ml water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 chicken breast fillets

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:4hr  ›  Ready in:4hr10min 

  1. Set slow cooker on High setting.
  2. Melt butter or margarine in cooker. Add rice, soups and water. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
  3. Salt and pepper chicken and arrange on top of rice mixture.
  4. Cook on High for 3 hours or Low for 4 hours.
