Cocktail Party Mussels

    I have been making this recipe for quite sometimes now and I love it. I often make it for special occasions or when I want to impress my guests. It's really good and very original. I keep the mussels in the shells because they look much nicer that way. I usually plan on about 3 mussels per person.

    Serves: 8 

    • 1kg mussels, cleaned
    • 1 bouquet garni
    • 50ml fresh orange juice
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 50ml dry white wine

    1. Cook the mussels in a saucepan with white wine and a bouquet garni, over medium heat for 5 minutes.
    2. Discard the mussels that didn't open.
    3. Open the mussels, take them off the shells and transfer them to a bowl with the orange juice and cinnamon. Remember to keep the shells for serving them in. Chill the mussels for 15 minutes.
    4. Arrange mussels in the shells on a platter, serve chilled.
