Spaghetti Arrabbiata

About this recipe: This is an Italian pasta dish with a slight kick in it (depending on how many dried chilli flakes you add). It's quick and easy to throw together on a weeknight.


Serves: 4 

  • 1 tablespoons olive oil
  • 60g pancetta cubes
  • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
  • 800g tinned tomatoes with juice
  • 1 decent pinch of chilli pepper flakes, or to taste
  • 500g spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, for serving
  • A few fresh basil leaves (optional)

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:40min 

  1. Add the oil to a frying pan and cook the pancetta cubes for 5 minutes. Add the garlic, tomatoes and chilli flakes. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the spaghetti in water as directed on the packet. Drain and transfer to a serving bowl. Pour over sauce and garnish with grated cheese and basil.
