Chinese stir fried pork and broccoli

    Stir fried pork fillet is combined with broccoli stems, garlic, ginger and oyster sauce. Serve with boiled rice to make a delicious Chinese dinner.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 teaspoon light soy sauce
    • 1/2 teaspoon Shaoxing wine
    • 2 teaspoons cornflour
    • 200g pork fillet, thinly sliced
    • 1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 2 dried chilli peppers, sliced in half lengthwise
    • 5 slices fresh ginger
    • 2 cloves garlic, sliced
    • 2 long broccoli stems, thinly sliced
    • 2 teaspoons oyster sauce
    • salt, as needed

    1. Mix light soy sauce, Shaoxing wine and cornflour together in a large bowl. Add sliced pork; mix well and marinate for 5 minutes.
    2. Heat oil in a wok over high heat; add the marinated pork and stir-fry until browned. Add the dried chilli peppers, ginger and garlic; stir fry until fragrant. Remove the pork with a slotted spatula and set aside.
    3. Add broccoli to wok and stir fry over medium heat until soft. Stir in pork; season with oyster sauce and salt before serving.
