Japanese beef fried rice

    Beef mince is cooked in butter, then seasoned with soy sauce, sake and dried bonito flakes to make this delicious Japanese-style fried rice.

    Serves: 2 

    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 60g beef mince
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon sake
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • pinch sea salt
    • 5g dried bonito flakes
    • 400g cooked white rice, warm


    1. Melt butter in a frying pan over medium heat; stir in beef mince and cook until browned, about 5 to 8 minutes.
    2. Stir in rice; add soy sauce, sake and sugar. Stir until well mixed; season with salt and dried bonito flakes and serve hot.
