    About this recipe: A unique combination of Thai and Chinese spiced, finger-licking Chicken wings for spicy food lovers. Great for a starter and with salad on side!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 2 

    • 2 shallots, finely chopped
    • 2 stalks lemongrass, finely chopped
    • 1 star anise
    • 3 cloves
    • 1 tablesoon turmeric
    • 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine or sherry
    • 6 chicken wings
    • oil, for frying

    Method

    1. Place lemon grass and shallot into a pestle and mortar with all the spices, and grind into a smooth paste.
    2. Use a knife to score the chicken wings before covering them with the lemon grass paste and wine or sherry.
    3. Let chicken wings marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes before cooking.
    4. Place the chicken wings carefully into a hot frying pan with oil and leave on both sides for 30 minutes.
    5. Serve with crunchy salad or fried rice as liked.

    Tip

    To make sure that the chicken wings cook properly, simply just put a lid on top of the frying pan, make sure no air escapes.
