Chocolate log petit fours

    Chocolate and marzipan sweet treats! Marzipan is rolled around dark chocolate ganache and then coated with milk chocolate.

    Makes: 30 sweets

    • 330g dark chocolate
    • 350ml double cream
    • 35g milk chocolate
    • 250g ready to roll marzipan

    1. Melt the dark chocolate and cream together in a bain marie (in a bowl over a saucepan of hot water) and mix together until combined.
    2. Chill the mix in the fridge and then stir firmly when almost set. Using a piping bag with a 1cm nozzle, pipe thin lines onto a cling film-lined tray. Chill until firm.
    3. Roll out the marzipan, and lift each piped chocolate sausage onto the marzipan, rolling it around to cover.
    4. Melt the milk chocolate over a bain marie and then cover the outside of the logs, not worrying about the mess - but ensuring the entire things are covered.
    5. Chill until the chocolate has set, and cut into small pieces. Drop into little petit four cases and devour!!

    Do not try these!! I did but the instructions are terrible (copied a recipe from elsewhere, without trying it?), took forever  -  12 Jun 2012
