Place ribs in a non-metallic dish. Add the remaining ingredients, cover and chill to marinate for at least 3 hours.
Just before ready to cook, remove the ribs from the marinade and put on a plate. Pour the marinade into a small saucepan and bring to the boil to cook out any raw meat juices.
Cook on the BBQ or grill until cooked through and the fat is crispy, 20 to 30 minutes. Baste with the marinade during cooking.
