Okay, I know you have to do all the work whether you make it in a slow cooker or bake it the oven but the nice thing about making this in the slow cooker is that you just switch it on and forget about it. The apples all cook evenly too, which doesn't always happen when you bake a crumble in the oven.
Brilliant recipe..made it in my slow cooker first time..its even better the next day, as it solidifies & goes like toffee. I've a question: how long should I cook it in my oven & at what temp'? I'm wanting to cook it for friends & take it to their house..I'm not wanting to take my heavy slow cooker bowl to their house (plus we may want to reheat it)...I was thinking I could just cook it in my oven & take the baking dish to their house for possible reheating. - 15 Oct 2014
This is ideal in the slow cooker. I had to make a few minor changes to the crumble due to empty stock cupboard. Taking the lid off seems to work to give a crunchier topping. - 02 Feb 2014
