Sophie's super cool chocolate gruel!!!

    A gorgeous thick oaty porridge extension! A fantastic reason to get up early in the morning! Goes well with a hot brew, coffee, or hot chocolate! A great start to your day! Very easy, quick, and simple!!! Its egg free, and delicious!! Try it today for your breakfast now! It's an old Victorian sensation, which will blow you away! It's a recipe that deserves a place in every cookbook, and deserves to be in EVERYONE'S tummy!!!

    Serves: 1 

    • 90g porridge oats
    • 150ml milk, or as needed
    • 3 tablespoons double cream
    • 50g cocoa powder
    • 25g caster sugar
    • as much as you like summer fruits
    • 25g chopped chocolate
    • 50ml chocolate sauce (leave a bit for the topping!)

    1. In a microwave, heat all the porridge oats, 100ml of milk, and all the cream for 2 minutes. Mix before entering the microwave.
    2. While that mixture is cooking, in a mixing bowl, add the rest of your milk, the cocoa powder, and half of your sugar, then stir until all the ingredients have blended together.
    3. Take your summer fruits, and mash them all together in a bowl, along with small bits of chocolate. Stir together, along with 25ml of chocolate sauce.
    4. Once your porridge that has been cooking in the microwave has finished, add all the other mixtures, and stir well.
    5. After that, empty the mixture into a blender, and smoothly blend untill the lumps have ROUGHLY dissapeared.
    6. Drizzle on as much chocolate sauce as you like, and leave to stand for one minute, for it may be still a little hot. If not, eat straight away, and serve with a warm brew. ENJOY YOUR TASTY GRUEL!!!

    Serving suggestion

    Serve with any hot drink, but to really enjoy your morning, have a hot brew and a cookie with it! This gruel is VERY good for mornings.
