About this recipe: Crispy, crunchy biscuits. These are thin, crispy biscuits that spread a lot whilst baking. You can try adding your own variations, such as currants or vanilla.

Makes: 24 biscuits

  • 200g self raising flour
  • 200g light brown sugar
  • 160g margarine

Prep:20min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Extra time:5min cooling  ›  Ready in:40min 

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas 6 / fan 180 C. Grease baking trays.
  2. Mix all of the ingredients in a medium sized mixing bowl with a wooden spoon.
  3. Once the mix has turned into a dough take it out of the bowl.
  4. Roll the dough in to a big sausage shape.
  5. Cut the dough in to 24 equal pieces.
  6. Spread the pieces of dough around the baking trays (leave a lot of space between them, as the dough will flatten in the oven).
  7. Take a fork and slightly flatten each biscuit down.
  8. Place the trays in to the oven and bake them until golden brown.
  9. Take them out of the oven and leave them to cool for approximately 5 minutes on a cooling rack before serving.
