About this recipe:
Tava is a popular dish in Turkey. Serve with warm pitta or flat bread.
1kg (2 1/4 lbs) diced stewing steak
1 small red onion, diced
1 green pepper, seeded and diced
2 tomatoes, diced
1 green chilli, seeded and diced (optional)
1/2 teaspoon dried crushed chillies
- Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas mark 4.
- Place the beef into a casserole or baking dish. Mix in the red onion, green pepper, tomato and fresh and dried chillies.
- Cook uncovered for 30 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the meat is tender. Serve hot with flatbread, or wrapped in a pitta.
