Cannellini bean, wholewheat pasta and green vegetable soup

    A low fat yet filling soup thats offers a balanced and nutritious meal for all the family. Great to share as a starter before a traditional Sunday roast or as a meal by itself.

    Makes: 4 portions

    • 1 cabbage
    • 1 tin cannellini beans
    • 1 onion
    • 1 head broccolli
    • 1 leek
    • 1 tin Heinz tomato soup
    • 3 tomatoes
    • 200g wholewheat pasta
    • 2 cloves garlic
    • Salt, to season
    • Pepper, to season
    • Splash Worcester sauce

    1. Finely chop the onion, leek, cabbage and broccoli.
    2. Saute the onion with the garlic until the onion is soft (about 3 minutes) then add the leek and saute for a further 1 minute. Add the cabbage and broccoli.
    3. Drain and add the tin of cannellini beans.
    4. Finely chop the tomatoes and add to the mixture.
    5. Add the heinz tomato soup and finally the pasta. Allow to simmer for 20 minutes.
    6. Add a dash of worcester sauce and season to taste.
    7. Enjoy!
