Beijinho means 'little kiss' in Portuguese. These are little birthday party sweets shaped into balls, then rolled in sugar or coconut. Also called branquinho (from 'branco' meaning 'white'), beijinho are the white version of Brazilian brigadeiro (chocolate fudge truffles), using coconut rather than cocoa powder.
This recipe just didn't work for me. I followed it to the letter, the mixture wasn't quite cool after 20 minutes so I put it in the fridge for an hour but it was still too soft to form into little balls. I tried then dolloping teaspoons of the mixture into the bowl of coconut and rolling it around, I got about 6 very squidgy sweets and I'm going to see if they set in the fridge overnight. Disappointed. - 07 Nov 2016
