Brazilian hot chocolate

    A Brazilian recipe for thick, creamy and delicious hot chocolate made with sweetened condensed milk. Sprinkle with cinnamon and even a bit of nutmeg for a beautiful warming winter treat.

    Serves: 6 

    • 1L milk
    • 1 (397g) tin sweetened condensed milk
    • 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
    • 2 tablespoons cornflour
    • whipped cream to serve
    • cinnamon for dusting (optional)

    1. Beat milk and condensed milk in a blender until the two become well mixed. Add the cocoa powder and cornflour and beat more, until smooth.
    2. Transfer to a saucepan and heat slowly over medium low stirring constantly, until hot chocolate is thick and creamy.
    3. Divide the hot chocolate into 6 hot mugs and top each with whipped cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste.
