About this recipe: This delicious guava cream is delicious with fruit salad, over a cheesecake or even poured over a light sponge! Beautiful fruit cream alternative to custard. The tin of sweetened condensed milk is used as a measure for the cream, as well.


Serves: 10 

  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 1kg red, ripe guavas - peeled and diced
  • 1 (397g) tin sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tinful cold double cream
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice

Prep:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Extra time:30min chilling  ›  Ready in:45min 

  1. Bring water to the boil in a small saucepan; add guava and cook for another 10 minutes. Let cool slightly and transfer to a blender.
  2. Blend until mixture is smooth; pass through a sieve into a bowl and stir in condensed milk, cream and lemon juice. Chill in refrigerator for at least half an hour.
