Brazilian Ovaltine® brigadeiro

    Instead of using chocolate for the popular Brazilian sweets brigadeiro, you can also use Ovaltine®

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 (397g) tin sweetened condensed milk
    • 4 tablespoons Ovaltine®
    • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
    • Ovaltine® to decorate

    1. In a heavy saucepan combine the condensed milk and Ovaltine®. Stir well and slowly bring to the boil. Add butter, stirring constantly.
    2. Keep stirring at medium heat until the mixture thickens and becomes thick (you should be able to see bottom of the pan when stirring with a spatula.) At this point, remove from the hob and allow to cool.
    3. Remove tablespoons of the mixture and shape into balls (grease your hands to do that). roll them in the Ovaltine® and serve!
    4. Roll the brigadeiros in Ovaltine® and serve.
