Maple glazed carrots

    A nice little twist on an every night veg! This dish is festive enough for the holiday table, and easy enough for a family supper.

    Serves: 10 

    • 10 to 12 carrots, peeled and cut
    • 60ml maple syrup
    • 1 tablespoon margarine or butter
    • 55g brown sugar

    1. Cook carrots in boiling water in large saucepan on medium heat 12 to 14 minutes or until tender; drain in colander.
    2. Mix brown sugar and syrup in same saucepan; cook 15 to 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly, stirring occasionally. Add carrots; cook 5 minutes or until glaze is thickened to desired consistency, stirring frequently.
    3. Add margarine or butter and stir until melted.
