About this recipe: This is a two stage process that takes time, but is well worth the effort. Thick and filling, it can be frozen and pulled out on a cold winter morning. Great every time.
This is a really thick soup. I tend to store in containers and freeze, but when re-heating I use the same container and fill with warm water and add to the soup; otherwise it is more like a stew.

Great taste (I added a teaspoon of curry powder) but the consistency was pease pudding, which was fine. The problem is with the ingredients list. A "packet" of dried peas means nothing. Obviously my "packets" were too big! How about some weights instead? - 29 Oct 2015
Cheapest meal ever. I did not find it time consuming as you get on with your day while the cooker will do all the work. The soup was delicious, freezes well, just add water to loosen when reheating. My husband always states he does not like soup, no problem with this one, could not stop him eating. The pea flavours are perfect with small chopped up ham pieces adding a little chewy interest when you come across some. Nice to bulk out to a full meal with some crusty bread. - 19 Sep 2015
