Decadent double chocolate brownies

    An elegant, fudgy and decadent cocoa brownie, studded with extra chunks of both white and milk chocolate.

    Serves: 12 

    • 330g granulated sugar
    • 180g butter, melted
    • 50ml water
    • 2 eggs
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    • 150g plain flour
    • 90g cocoa powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 150g mixed white and milk chocolate chips

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a 23cm baking pan. If it's a non stick pan you don't need to grease it.
    2. Combine sugar, butter, and water in a large bowl. Stir in eggs and vanilla extract.
    3. Sift flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl; stir this into the sugar mixture then stir in the chocolate chips. Spread into prepared baking pan.
    4. Bake until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out slightly sticky, 35 to 40 minutes. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.

    Made these today very tasty!!!! will go lovely with some ice cream. Will be making them again. Thank you for the recipe. I did try to put a little something different in. I put some Cadbury's Crunchie bar in. Only one. Didn't make a difference. I wanted to have a bit of crunch inside. I may try putting plain honeycomb in next time see if that makes a difference. Very easy to make yummy!!!!!!  -  24 Jun 2012
