Chocolate cupcakes with a hidden surprise inside. Eat when still warm to get to the gooey middle of chocolatey heaven.
If you want more goo add maybe 2 squares of chocolate....or more!!
I love the idea of melt in the middle chocolate cakes but when I tried this I was very disappointed with the result. I am not sure what I did wrong but after 15 mins my cakes were not cooked, I left them a bit longer and as soon as I took them out of the oven they deflated before my eyes!! When I tasted one the mixture was very heavy and stuck to the roof of my mouth....apart from that they were very tasty!! Nice and rich and chocolatey, next time I will add more than one square of chocolate and possibly amend the recipe. For now I have turned my oven off in protest as I'm now frustrated, I was looking forward to having one with a cuppa tea later. - 28 Mar 2014
Try: 150g chocolate + 150g butter + 85g chopped butter - melt this in a saucepan until sugar has dissolved. Add 3 large eggs PLUS 3 large egg yolks - whisk. Fold in 1 tablespoon of plain flour (best sifted to avoid lumps). Divide between 6 cupcake papers evenly & chill in fridge for half an hour. Put in a pre-heated oven on gas mark 4 for 8 minutes. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving. - 12 May 2016
