Thick cut wholemeal bead fried in a savoury egg and onion mixture. This calls for wholemeal bread, but any bread will do.
You could boil the fine onion before you add to the egg and milk if you do not like crunchy onion.

I left out the onion as I was just looking for a recipe for regular eggy bread. The milk and egg mixture was just the right amount so nothing wasted. I mis-read the instructions and didn't cook the bread for long enough - but 40-50 seconds would have been about right. I was out of ketchup, so I served it with salsa which went really well. - 30 Dec 2012
