Mexican vegetable dip

    A festive dip to serve with crudites that can be used all year round! How to impress when asked for something for a party!

    Serves: 10 

    • 225g (8 oz) cream cheese
    • 110g (4 oz) soured cream
    • 1 envelope taco seasoning
    • 225g (8 oz) salsa
    • 1 small lettuce, shredded
    • 2 small tomatoes, sliced
    • 1/2 onion, chopped
    • 150g (5 oz) cheddar cheese or red chilli cheese, grated

    Prep:20min  ›  Extra time:20min chilling  ›  Ready in:40min 

    1. Mix cream cheese, soured cream and taco seasoning together and spread on bottom of pie plate.
    2. Cover with layer of salsa, the lettuce, then tomatoes and onions and last grated cheese. Chill for an hour.
    3. Serve with tortilla chips or Doritos®.

    I really enjoyed this delicious, easy to make dip. I made my own taco seasoning from the US allrecipes site and added 4 teaspoons of it in with the cream cheese and sour cream ( I used a little less grated cheddar cheese just out of preference.  -  05 Mar 2012


    We really enjoyed this simple to prepare dip, but next time I would def use less taco seasoning, as we thought it was too salty. Would make this again! Thanks for sharing.  -  17 Mar 2012


    So easy and adapts well to what you have on hand. I added diced chilies and avocado. A layer of mashed pinto or black beans on the bottom is nice.  -  10 Mar 2012
