Ingredients

- 4 unsmoked gammon steaks
- 50ml water
- 4 tablespoons light brown soft sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tablespoons tomato sauce or ketchup
- 340g undrained crushed pineapple
- 2 1/3 tablespoons cornflour
- 100ml water (which is needed near the end)

- Preheat the grill, then grill the gammon steaks for at least 5 minutes on each side.
- Meanwhile, in a saucepan combine the 50ml water, brown sugar, soy sauce, ketchup and pineapple. Bring to the boil. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Combine cornflour and the 100ml water until smooth, stir into pineapple sauce. Bring to the boil, cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve on top of the gammon steaks!
