Ingredients
Makes: 100 2cm bite size snacks
- 240g wholemeal flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 30g rolled oats
- 60g shelled sunflower seed kernels
- 2 tablespoons flaxseeds
- 2 eggs
- 60ml milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 120ml low sodium chicken broth

- Preheat oven to 170 C / Gas 3. Lightly grease cookie sheets.
- In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, oats and seeds.
- Beat together the eggs and milk, add to the flour bowl. Also add the oil and chicken broth. Mix well.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for a good minute. Roll the dough out until 3mm think. Cut with your favorite cookie cutter.
- Bake in the hot oven for 30 minutes. Once the initial 30 minutes is up, turn the oven off, but leave the biscuits in the oven for a further 30 minutes to crisp.
Tip
These dog biscuits require the use of wheat flour which some dogs are sensitive to. If so, it's so easy to modify this recipe, simply substitute one cup of wheat flour for 1-1/4 cup of rye or oat flour or ¾ cup, rice, barley or potato flour
