About this recipe: Brandy sauce can still be enjoyed by those who can't have eggs! This is a delicious eggless rendition on the classic brandy sauce.


Serves: 6 

  • 40g butter
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 110g dark brown soft sugar
  • 225ml boiling water
  • 6 tablespoons brandy

  1. In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and salt until slightly moistened. Stir the brown sugar until it is moistened too. Remove from heat. Stir in the boiling water and return to heat. Stir and heat until sauce boils and thickens. Finally stir in the brandy. Serve hot with pudding.


If you wish to flambe your pudding save some extra brandy.
