About this recipe: Terrifically easy but a nice change of pace, these pork medallions are quickly marinated in a mixture of shallot, five spice powder, soy sauce and olive oil, before being baked.


Serves: 4 

  • 4 pork loin medallions
  • 1 large shallot, minced
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 1 pinch five spice powder
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

  1. In a shallow non-metallic baking dish, place the pork steaks. Cover with chopped shallots. Season with pepper. Sprinkle with five spice powder, then spread the oil and soy sauce over the steaks.
  2. Marinate 30 minutes, turning occasionally.
  3. Preheat oven to 210 C / Gas 6. Cook the fillets for 15 to 20 minutes.


You can prepare this in advance and allow the pork to marinate for up to 10 hours in the fridge.
