Ingredients
Makes: 4 dozen
- 225g butter, softened
- 200g sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 340g self raising flour

Preparation method
Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 10 mins1.
Preheat oven to 190 C / Gas 5.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Gradually mix in the flour. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place onto ungreased baking trays.
3.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on tray two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.

amazing especially as i like to replace eggs with syrup when making biscuits - they melt in your mouth mmmm delicious.
also you can make them into shapes!
