Spiced clementines in syrup

Spiced clementines in syrup

4 people made this

About this recipe: I like to serve these warm with vanilla ice cream as a dessert over Christmas. I suggest serving two clementines per person so this recipes serves 4.

  1. Pour the water in to a pot and add sugar. Heat gently to dissolve. Add the liqueur, cinnamon stick, cloves and star anise (if using). Boil for 5 or 10 minutes until it becomes thick and syrupy.
  2. Set the syrup aside to cool while you peel the clementines. Remove any bits of white pith but keep them whole.
  3. Place the clementines in the warm syrup, then spoon over the syrup making sure they all get coated. Serve warm or transfer into a sterilised glass jar (with tight lid) and store in the fridge.
