My gingernuts

    25 min

These biscuits are easy to make. I make them in a wood burning stove, but in the summer I use a conventional oven.

I love!! I have to say, I did doubt the recipe at first. Only liquids being golden syrup and treacle? Icing sugar? But, I was pleasantly suprised, this recipe is GOOD. Really good. Fantastic. Probably THE best gingernut recipe i've found. A nice crunch, with a chewy center, melts in the mouth, and flavour to drool for. Yum!!! The spices in it are fantastic and just the right amount - but still, a teeny weeny (hardly) bit strong on they're own, so one of these delicious gingernuts with a nice cuppa or some milk = heaven Infact, its so good, I am actually going to copy it into the family cookbook, which my great grandmother started!! Yes. Its that good. I've just read through the reveiw - its so POSITIVE. Now I need to think of something to moan about..... The weathers awful today. Oh! Recipe related!! Right. Well, the only downside I can think of was that they didnt quite make 30 for me. That might just be how I did it though. So, when you (have to) make this recipe, be sure to do them nice and thin and small too, as they rose and spread more than I expected. A must-bake for all. Simple to follow recipe, quick and easy, and cooking time is short so you wont have to wait to long to get your hands on these!! Yum!! So overall - I think a well deserved 5 star!! Great work!!  -  14 Sep 2012
