Mix the flour, sugar, buttermilk, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and egg together with a spatula until homogeneous.
Add the sliced fruit to the mixture and stir. You may also put the slices on the bottom of the baking tin and pour the mixture over them.
Pour mixture in a baking tin (I used a plum-cake tin), put in the oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the cake tests done in the centre with a wooden skewer. When ready, take out of the oven, turn the cake upside-down on a frill and let cool.
