About this recipe: This is an easy way to make warm, soothing chocolate brownies. Make them with white or dark chocolate - anything will do!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 10

    • 1/2 tablespoon salt
    • 225g butter, melted
    • 60g cocoa powder
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 4 eggs
    • 225g plain flour
    • 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
    • 60g walnut halves (optional)

    Method
    Prep:20min  ›  Cook:23min  ›  Extra time:15min cooling  ›  Ready in:58min

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
    2. Mix all of the ingredients together in the same order listed above. If you do not want the walnuts, leave them out.
    3. Once all mixed together with no lumps, spread into a square greased tin. It doesn't matter what size - the smaller, the better for extra thick brownies!
    4. Bake in the preheated oven until a skewer inserted near the centre comes out clean, about 23 minutes.
    5. Leave to cool for 10 minutes or until cool.

    Drink pairing

I would recommend some milk with these. It makes them go nice and creamy in your mouth after.

It was good apart from the lack of sugar I added 225g of caster and they were perfect - 13 Mar 2012
