Baked camembert with garlic and thyme

About this recipe: Deliciously warm and runny camembert, baked in it's own box with slivers of garlic and thyme. Serve with chunks of bread as part of an antipasto plate to share with friends.

Serves: 4 

  • 1 camembert cheese, in a wooden box
  • 1 clove garlic, sliced into thin slivers
  • twig of fresh thyme
  • 2 teaspoons white wine

Prep:5min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas 6.
  2. Take the cheese out of the box. Line the box with greaseproof paper cut into a circle to cover the base.
  3. Pop the cheese back in the box. Make small cuts into the rind on top and into each cut add a sliver of garlic and thyme.
  4. Drizzle over the wine. Place the wooden lid on top and place the box onto a baking tray.
  5. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Serve.

Other ideas

Serves 4 as part of a sharing plate or serves 2 as a starter.
