    About this recipe: An easy asparagus side dish with a touch of lemon, butter and Parmesan cheese to make in-season asparagus extra special!

    Serves: 4 

    • 450g fresh asparagus, tough ends trimmed
    • 2 tablespoons water
    • 30g melted butter
    • 1 wedge lemon
    • 4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
    • ground white pepper to taste

    1. Place asparagus and water in a microwave-safe dish and cover. Microwave on High until tender, 5 to 7 minutes.
    2. Line a baking tray with aluminium foil. Preheat the grill.
    3. Remove asparagus from dish and place in a single layer on the prepared baking tray.
    4. Squeeze lemon wedge into melted butter and drizzle over asparagus. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese and ground white pepper over asparagus.
    5. Place under grill until lightly browned, about 2 minutes.
