    About this recipe: A straightforward, classic bruschetta with 5 main ingredients - bread, garlic, tomatoes, fresh basil and olive oil.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 4 baguette or crusty bread slices
    • 2 garlic cloves, peeled
    • 2 tomatoes, cored and chopped
    • Salt, to season
    • 8 fresh basil leaves, torn or chopped
    • 1 or 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:1min  ›  Ready in:6min 

    1. Place the bread on a baking tray and toast both sides under the grill until golden brown.
    2. While the bread is still warm, rub one side of each piece of toast with a garlic clove, top with chopped tomatoes, a little salt and fresh basil. Drizzle olive oil over the top and serve.

    I just tried this one today and very much liked it. Nice and undemanding when you don't want to spend too much time in the kitchen but still satisfying. - 04 Aug 2012

    Try substitute garlic with gruyere and parmesan cheese . I havent tried it yet.....its is lovelymlovely , also get a really nice bread ...i like tiger ..also mozzarella is also good .. - 31 Aug 2014

    hi, i would like to ask a question regarding this dish. Can we use other than garlic and still bring out the favor? As I cannot eat garlic or onions, just wonder if you have any other suggestion? thx - 19 May 2014
