Viennese chocolate chip bread

There is nothing better to start the day with than this bread. It's possible to have fresh bread early in the morning thanks to your bread machine.

This recipe must be wrong. I thought it was odd there was no liquid and sure enough my bread machine just turned it into a flourly mess. I added 300ml of water and it looked better. I then wasn't sure when to add the chocolate chips so added them too soon (my bread machine doesn't have a signal to add ingredients). Also it isn't clear whether to use plain flour or strong white flour - is it bread or a cake???? It's not baked yet but it just looks brown now... Total waste of some expensive chocolate chips and other ingredients  -  30 May 2013

Thank you for posting this recipe Aeroz. I've made it 3 times & it turns out beautifully every time. The only change I made is that I used 200g Choc chips. I put 60g in with all the ingredients at the start then put the rest in the automatic fruit & nut dispenser. The first 60g melts a bit through the dough & the fruit & nut dispenser puts the rest in half way through the kneading process so that the chocolate doesn't break down too much. It makes the bread extra chocolatey. This will be a regular on our household.  -  09 Sep 2016  (Review from Allrecipes AU | NZ)
