Easy apple tart

    There's nothing more classic than a homemade apple tart. I like to serve it with a scoop of caramel ice cream.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 6 

    • 1 sheet puff pastry
    • 200g apple sauce
    • 3 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
    • 1 tablespoon dark brown soft sugar
    • 10g butter
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

    Method

    1. Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Butter a tart tin.
    2. Unroll the puff pastry, and line the tart tin with the pastry. Pierce the pastry in several places with a fork.
    3. Spread the apple sauce over the pastry. Arrange the apple slices in an overlapping spiral, beginning at the edge of the pastry and working toward the centre.
    4. Sprinkle the apples with dark brown soft sugar, and add the butter in small pieces over the top. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
    5. Bake in the preheated oven until puffed and golden, about 35 minutes.
