Sesame tuna steaks

    Fresh tuna is not always cheap, but it is a very nutritious fish, and there you needn't eat large quantities to be satisfied. When we have these as a family, we share anywhere from 2 to 3 to 5 steaks! With a salad, this is a yummy meal ready in minutes!

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 tuna steaks
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
    • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

    1. Heat olive oil over high heat in a nonstick frying pan.
    2. Sprinkle tops of tuna steaks with a dash of olive oil and sesame seeds and season with salt and pepper to taste.
    3. Arrange in frying pan, seasoned side down; season other side.
    4. Sear for 2 to 4 minutes.
    5. Turn over and and sear the other side for 2 to 4 minutes.
    6. Remove from heat and eat immediately. The centres should still be pink and almost raw.
