Cheat's no-bake creme caramel

    Creme caramel is easy enough, but this recipe uses shop-bought caramel to get lusciously foolproof results! You can use bottled or tinned caramel in this recipe.

    Serves: 6 

    • 80g caster sugar
    • 50g cornflour
    • 4 tablespoons double cream
    • 6 tablespoons caramel
    • 1 litre milk

    1. In a medium saucepan combine sugar, cornflour and cream.
    2. Add the caramel and heat over low heat; gradually add milk, stirring constantly.
    3. Once the cream mixture has thickened, pour it into individual ramekins and let cool to room temperature before putting in the fridge to chill. If caramel seems too liquid after cooking, no worries - it will set in the refrigerator again.
