1 tablespoon vinegar
1 (400g) tin beets - juice only
10 pitted black olives

Place the eggs and the vinegar in a pan with enough cold water to cover, and bring to the boil. Cook for 15 minutes. Let cool a little. Meanwhile, pour the juice from the tin of beets into a resealable plastic bag.
Roll the hard boiled eggs on a table or work surface to crack the shells lightly.
Remove a few bits of eggshell here and there.
Place the eggs in the bag with the beet juice.
Let the eggs soak for 10 minutes, turning them in the bag occasionally so that the eggs bathe evenly in the juice.
Peel the eggs.
You can see the the eggs now resemble bloodshot eyes!
Cut the eggs in half. Place the eggs on a plate on a little bed of mayonnaise and place the closed end of a black olive on top.
