About this recipe:Quick to prepare and healthy, these are no less tasty for it, and much appreciated by my children. Every time I make them, they don't last long in the biscuit tin!
Makes: 18 biscuits
100g dark brown soft sugar
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
100g wholemeal flour
110g plain flour
50g plain chocolate chips
50g chopped walnuts
60g butter, melted
1 tablespoon apple sauce
1 rounded tablespoon baking powder

Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas 6. Butter a baking tray or line with baking parchment.
Whisk together the egg, dark brown soft sugar, honey and vanilla extract until the mixture is frothy.
Stir in the wholemeal flour, plain flour, chocolate chips, walnuts, melted butter, apple sauce and baking powder to form a soft dough. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto the prepared baking tray. Space the biscuits about 5cm apart and flatten slightly with your fingers or a wet spoon.
Bake in the preheated oven until lightly golden, about 8 minutes. Let cool before removing from the baking tray. These will keep for several days in a biscuit tin.
