About this recipe: This is a quick and easy mackerel salad is easy to whip up in a hurry and serve as a starter or as a party dip with crusty bread or crackers.


Serves: 2 

  • 1 (175g) tin mackerel fillets in oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 hard boiled eggs, diced
  • 1 pinch ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional)
  • chopped fresh parsley, to taste (optional)

  1. Remove the mackerel from the tin and place in a bowl. Add onion and eggs then stir in pepper and mayonnaise, mix well.


Depending on the occasion, it may be worth chilling the spread in the fridge for a few hours prior to serving.
