About this recipe: Financiers are a sort of light and moist French tea cake. These financiers aux amandes are a classic and perfect alongside your favourite cuppa. They're traditionally baked in rectangular shaped moulds which make the finished cakes look like gold bars, hence the name!
If you don't have a financier mould, you can use mini tart tins or cupcake cases. Watch baking time as it may vary depending on the size of mould used. Financier moulds are available online and in some speciality shops.
