6 eggs, separated
250g ground almonds
250g caster sugar

Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a 23cm round cake tin and line with baking parchment.
In a medium bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. In another bowl beat egg yolks with sugar, then fold in whipped egg whites and ground almonds.
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
