    About this recipe: After making my own peaches in syrup, I repeated the adventure, but this time added pears! I put very little sugar in this time and it was just as good.

    Makes: 3 medium jars

    • 1kg pears - peeled, cored and cut into pieces
    • 1kg peaches - peeled, stoned and cut into pieces
    • 200g caster sugar
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:40min 

    1. Heat the pears, peaches, caster sugar and vanilla extract over medium heat in a saucepan. Stir after a minute to help the sugar to dissolve.
    2. Simmer for 30 minutes, and then ladle into sterilised jars and seal. Store in the refrigerator once opened.
