Just like my local takeaway - complete with pineapple chunks - this sauce takes a matter of minutes and goes great on a stir fry, with chicken or pork balls, over chips or served with white or fried rice. It is also very easy to adjust to your own liking, and uses very few ingredients!
To make a thicker sauce add more cornflour paste.
If you want the sauce sweeter then add more sugar or pineapple juice (you may need to add more cornflour if adding more liquid).
loved it - I like it very tangy so added some lemon juice and rice wine vinegar to it. so easy and all storecupboard stuff. I added a few chill flakes, some frozen stir fry veg and left over roast chicken during the snowy weather when the supermarket shelves were empty - we had a better than takeaway standard meal - this is in my favourites. - 26 Jan 2013
Most definitely the easiest and fool-proof sweet and sour sauces I have ever made.....This has now become my favourite and I will be showing it off to some friends this week!! - 29 Jan 2013
What I like most about this recipe is that there's not too much sugar in it. One other recipe on this site asks for 110 grams of sugar! Noone ever heard of diabetes? Thanks for this recipe, love it! - 05 Jun 2012
