This is a very widespread savoury snack or pastry in the Balkans, also known as Borek. I've eaten this in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia - Turkey has got something similar too.

I cooked the mince and onions and added, garlic powder, corriander, oregano, chilli powder, a can of tomatoes and a table spoon of tomato paste, and let it cool before adding egg yolks. The pastry recipe is similar to my roti recipe so I used that instead. Was a good meal will do again. Served with a salad and sour cream, salsa and kefir. Partner used the sour cream and salsa and I used the kefir. - 31 Jan 2012
